Meneilly
Art Studio recently completed development of a web site for The Sportsmen on Tug Hill Bar and
Restaurant. The Sportsmen recently came under the new ownership of Cheryl and Dave LaFramboise,
but has been a landmark in the popular snowmobiling region of Tug Hill in New York State. Located
in the heart of the Tug Hill in Upstate New York, The Sportsmen features delicious bar food and
nightly specials, as well as a fun and lively bar. Tug Hill is home of some of the best snowmobile

making The Sportsmen a unique and interesting location that truly appeals to the avid snowmobiler.

Tonight
I volunteered to teach the Vestal based Cub Scouts art night. We had a fun "art-filled" meeting. Scouts
painted primary and secondary color wheels. It was great to see that many of the scouts new about
tints (adding white to a color) and shades (adding black to a color) already. In addition, the scouts
painted a wolf paw print using my hand made stencil, a freehand drawing and lastly, a three square comic
strip similar to the one your see here at the left (click to enlarge). The scouts completed achievements
12 a, b, c, and e from their Wolf Scout books, earning four points toward thier Arrowhead award. More
importantly, everyone, myself included, had a great time.

Happy
New Year to everyone from Meneilly Art Studio!!
Meneilly Art Studio has recently completed development of a web site for Scott R. Ferris, nationally published author
and specialist on the artwork of Rockwell Kent (1882-1971). Scott is a researcher, writer and lecturer on Kent, and
he has served as a curator or consultant for numerous Kent exhibitions. Scott is also compiling the catalogue
raisonné of Kent’s paintings and a checklist of his oeuvre. The purpose of this website is to present the reader
with information about American artist, author and sociopolitical activist Rockwell Kent through works he has
created or is able to share. Another section of the website also seeks to help complete the Rockwell Kent catalogue
raisonné, and provides a submission form that allows viewers to submit information and image files should they
have any information that could help Scott's search. If you have any interest or curiosity in this artist, please take a few moments to
visit the newly published web site of Scott. R Ferris by clicking the image to the left.

Well,
it looks as though I've been thoroughly neglecting my news
and events section! This is another portrait that I have
recently completed for client Dan Trouesdale as a birthday
gift for his wife. I photographed Dan's three young children
and composed the portrait that you see here, completed in
graphite with white charcoal highlights, on buff canson
paper. Each carries a beautiful smile and expression that
their parents were thrilled with. Dan Trouesdale is also the
owner of Wet Basement Solutions, whom I recently developed a
web site for.
In addition, I have been slowly revamping my own
website with some subtle changes that maintains the original look,
while condensing the content and allowing the users to
navigate though the site more easily. Meneilly Art Studio
has also begun development of a commercial web site for
Chris Alberti Air & Water Specialist.

This
is a portrait of Vic Breuer that I recently completed for Hueber Breuer
Construction Co., Inc. Vic Breuer was one of the founding
forefathers of Hueber Breuer, a family owned, Syracuse based commercial
construction company that has been in business since 1880. I am
particularly proud of how this portrait turned out. Vic was a kind
gentleman that I knew myself, and whom my own grandfather worked for at
Hueber Breuer Construction as a Superintendent. The media is
graphite and white charcoal on felt gray canson paper.

see another portrait of Hueber Breuer forefather Louis Hueber
here, and a portrait
of Francis J. Hueber

In other news, the
Everson Museum in Syracuse, NY is currently holding a Maxfield
Parrish exhibit that I would recommend to anyone interested in the arts.
The exhibition is titled "Fantasy and Fairy-Tales: Maxfield Parrish and
the Art of the Print," and will be running through July 11th.

I
received 5th place in an online portrait competition with

This
Sunday I took my family to see a wonderful art exhibit that is visiting
Syracuse's own Everson Museum. The exhibit is titled "
Turner
to Cezanne," and features impressionist artworks that were gathered
by the Davies sisters during the early 1900's. Pictured to the left here
is one of my own personal favorites from the exhibit, "The Storm" by
J.M.W. Turner. Turner came decades before the impressionist movement
began, but it was Turner and works such as this that inspired the
movement. It was a real treat to be able to see such outstanding artwork
right here in Syracuse.

I
visited the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, NY recently in order to
photograph the "National Grid Rainforest Preserve Mural" that I had
completed some years back, and the photographs are uploaded in the
Mural Gallery
for your viewing. I have printed quite a few items with the Gicl
ée
printer onto canvas, and they come out looking incredible. Photos
printed onto canvas come out looking almost like a painting, and they
make a wonderful gift. This has been the most common request so far, and
with the holidays coming up, if anyone has a special photo that they
might like made that much more special by printing it onto canvas,
please contact Meneilly Art Studio in Syracuse.
